Australian Olympic team sailing coach Laura Baldwin-Caldecoat put a group of 10 Laser masters sailors though their paces at the NSW Sport and Recreation Centre, at Point Wolstoncroft.
The training included on-land demonstrations running though sail set up, hiking technique, mainsheet management, tacking and gybing. The on-water training went through a range of skills with video analysis included in the de-brief.
The second day began world No. 4 ranked sailor Ash Brunning hosting an on-water demonstration. "This was an invaluable part of the training, showing the sailors how the boat is sailed at the highest level and made a big difference to the way each sailor handled their boat," Ms Baldwin-Caldecoat said.
Brunning and world No. 1 Tom Burton will coach at an open Laser training weekend on February 14 and 15.
Other masterclasses include a women's training weekend on February 28 and March 1, with Laser 4.7, Radial, Byte CI and Byte CII equipment.
On March 14 and 15 there will be an open Laser training session, along with a second session on March 21 and 22.
