Stop hounding Mohanlal: Mammootty
In an interesting twist of events, none other than Mammootty has come out in support of Mohanlal, who has been the victim of public ire in the past few days for the dismal performance of his band Lalisom at the opening ceremony of the National Games.
In a press conference held exclusively for declaring his support, Mammootty asked everyone to stop hounding Mohanlal with insults and accusations.
“Mohanlal continues to be an actor who is the pride of our people, and is much loved by them. He did this performance with all good intentions, and we should see it as such. As an artiste, a colleague and a friend, I request everyone to stop hounding him and allow him to get back to work in peace.” Mammootty also added that hosting the National Games is something we all celebrated and had a lot of expectations about. “This incident should not affect the celebrations in any way,” he said.
Meanwhile, following the relentless accusations in the media and social networking sites, Mohanlal had expressed his wish to return `2 crore, the amount the band charged for the performance. However, the cabinet has rejected the offer, saying it is not right to blame the actor solely for the fiasco.
