Renowned South Indian film director Kalatapasvi K. Vishwanath will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the Gulf Andhra Music Awards on February 6 at Zabeel Park in Dubai.

Vishwanath, who began his career as a sound engineer, is known for his memorable movies Sankharabharanam, Sagara Sangamam, Saptapadi, Swarnakamalam and Swati Karanam in Telugu and Sargam, Kaamchor, Jaag Utha Insan and Dhanwan in Hindi. He directed Sangamamm in Malayalam.

The 85-year-old also did several character roles in Telugu and Tamil cinema.

GAMA convenor Kesari Trimurthy told tabloid! the event, which debuted in Dubai last year, will provide six hours of non-stop entertainment with dance, music and comedy by Tollywood stars.

Music awards will be presented in 11 categories and the winners were selected by a panel based on an online poll. This time there will be an award for best celebrity singer, Trimurthy added.

The programme will be compered by comedian Ali and star TV anchor Suma.

Veteran actor Krishnamraju, actress Sumalatha, multi-lingual singer Chitra, comedian Brahmanandam, who holds a Guinness Record for acting in more than 1,000 movies, glamour stars Sada, Saloni, Anasuya and music directors Koti and Devisri Prasad are special invitees.
