It was a perfect day out for the men. A friendly cricket match between St John’s School Marhauli Alumni Association (SJMAS) and Benaras Club XI brought forth the best of sporting skills of both the sides.
Though the men battled it out on the ground, a far younger team of SJMAS had a comfortable win. It turned out to be an all-men affair as there was no presence of the women folk even among the spectators. The reason was zara hat ke.
They had gone to attend a baby shower bash of one of the members of the Association, we were told.
Neeraj Agarwal who took up the task of giving the commentary on the occasion seem to have a favourite phrase: “Kuch samajh nahi aa raha”, which he used after each good shot. The moment a four or a six was scored, we could hear some of the spectators repeating the same, even before the commentator could utter it.
