Speaking to GM from Nadi on Tuesday, band manager Mansus Knight confirmed that the Takia Fiji Tour is happening between late May and early June, this year.

“We’ve yet to set the date but we are definitely coming over,” he said.

“Negotiations are ongoing on where will doing our gigs. But yes we will start from the West, move over to Pacific Harbour, then to Suva and Nausori and probably travel across to Vanua Levu.”

Knight said he is still having talks and would make a full release on the tour program as soon as he returns from Sydney.

“There are paper works to complete and a few loose ends to tie up before could confirm the program.”

The Takia tune, Oi Au We, was a hit and had a huge following here along with their other favourite tunes Dau Lomani, Au Kerea and Kava Girl.

“We also sing Hindi numbers and the song Julum Julum is ours as well. We will be singing Hindi songs along with iTaukei and English numbers as well.”
