Accused in Bellari murder case gets bail
Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa has granted conditional bail to accused Nitin Dadaso Bhosale in the 2011 murder case of Sultan Bellari.
The prosecution alleged that Bellari was kidnapped, wrongfully confined and was murdered by the applicant and other co-accused persons. Thereafter, his head was severed from the body and was burnt. The case is investigated by the Maina-Curtorim police station.
While granting bail to the accused, Justice U V Bakre observed that “the offence is serious in nature, however, the character of the evidence which has been brought on record is such that the applicant can hardly be connected with the crime”.

The court directed that the accused, who was in custody for almost four years, be released on bail upon execution of a personal bond of 50,000, with one or two solvent sureties in the like amount.
The court held that ‘there is no dispute that all the relevant witnesses in so far as the applicant is concerned are already examined and therefore there cannot be any apprehension of relevant witnesses being tampered with’.
Advocate Ryan Menezes appeared for the applicant.
