Masked man ransacks house

Taking advantage of an open window next to the main door, an unidentified man with his face covered, barged into the house and ransacked a house of jewellery and other valuables in Rammurthy Nagar in the wee hours of Sunday.

The robber latched the bedroom doors before ransacking the house and packing three bag-packs containing laptops, valuables, clothes, a necklace and even chocolates and dry fruits.

Hearing the commotion, Jagadishwari (58) woke up and raised an alarm prompting the other members to wake up.

As the masked man tried to escape, Jagadishwari’s son, Satish managed to open the latch and chase the robber. Sensing trouble, the accused abandoned two bags and ran away with one bag.

He ran for a few yards where his associate was waiting in a scooter and sped away. Satish tried to catch them but since it was dark, he could not even see the registration number of the vehicle.

The Ramamurthy Nagar police have taken up a case and are investigating.
