Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K.T. Rama Rao has said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would soon inaugurate the ambitious Sripada Yellampalli project, constructed across the river Godavari in Ramagundam mandal.
The IT Minister along with Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etela Rajender, Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, Peddapalli MP Balka Suman, local legislator S. Satyanarayana, Peddapalli legislator D. Manohar Reddy and others inspected the site for the construction of intake well for the water-grid project at Vemunuru of Ramagundam on the backwaters of Yellampalli project on Sunday.
Addressing a public meeting in Kukkalagudur village of Ramagundam mandal, Mr. Rama Rao said the construction of intake well would provide drinking water to Ramagundam, Dharmapuri and Peddapalli Assembly segments as part of the water grid project. He said that they would complete the project in four years and supply drinking water to all the villages in the three Assembly segments.
Mr. Rajender said they would ensure safe drinking water supply to each household in the entire Telangana State in the next four years under the water grid programme. He said that they had released funds for the rehabilitation of land oustees of Yellampalli and Mid Manair Dam projects in Karimnagar district. He said that they would start a power station in Ramagundam.
Listing out government welfare schemes, he said that they had decided to sanction 5,000 LPG connections to the beneficiaries in each Assembly segment. He said that the government was committed for the revival of the Fertilizer Corporation of India in Ramagundam.
Earlier, the Ministers laid foundation stone for the development works of laying of roads at a cost of Rs 10.53 crore in the village. Principal secretary (Panchayat Rajy) Raymond Peters, Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, Joint Collector Pausami Basu and others were also present.
