A man was found fatally shot in the head near a pool in a Queens park Saturday afternoon, police said.
Passersby called the cops after discovering the 42-year-old victim unconscious by the pool in Astoria Park just after 2:30 p.m.
First responders rushed the man to Elmhurst Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending family notification of his death.
Investigators did not immediately identify a suspect or motive in the slaying.
