Electronics maker mulling surrender in North American TV market

OSAKA -- Sharp is considering selling a factory in Mexico and ditching its television business in North America, where the Japanese company is suffering deteriorating profitability.

     The consumer electronics maker sold roughly 900,000 TVs in North America in the fiscal year through March 2014. That is a little more than 10% of all sets the company sold.
