BENGALURU: Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) announced a partnership with Autodesk, a company working in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, to advance design education in the 250 colleges affiliated to the institution in Karnataka.
The MOU signed will see Autodesk and VTU jointly establishing Design Labs and Autodesk Authorized Certification Centers within the university and across the regional centers of VTU.

"This is where students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops to learn more about the professional design tools and techniques that will not only complement their on-going classroom studies in mechanical engineering and architecture, but will also equip them with industry knowledge and skills to make them more competitive when they graduate," said a release from the university.
These include workshops on Digital Prototyping and Building Information Modeling (BIM), both of which are industry best practices in the manufacturing and architecture, engineering and construction fields respectively.
