Spinners rock Delhi after Satish century
NAGPUR: Just before lunch, Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir danced down the wicket and found himself beaten in the air by left-arm spinner Rakesh Dhruv. Stumper Urvesh Patel removed the bails in a flash and the big celebration from the Vidarbha players said it all.
On a wicket that was turning, bouncing and keeping low, Gambhir's wicket was key, especially with star player Virender Sehwag down with a bout of fever.
By the time Sehwag came out to bat, Delhi had lost eight wickets and were trailing by 251 runs.
Left-arm pacer Shreekant Wagh (433 from 15 overs) bowled an inspirational second spell after lunch in the company of Dhruv as Delhi lost six wickets in the session.
The visitors finished the day at 1338, still needing 88 runs to avoid the follow on. Earlier, Ganesh Satish's brilliant 163 (308b; 14x4) led Vidarbha to 370 in their first innings.
Unlike the Delhi spinners, who couldn't take advantage of the turning track and bow led both sides of the wicket, Vidarbha's tweakers exploited the conditions to perfection. None of the Delhi batsmen looked comfortable.
Delhi lost Shivam Sharma just after lunch - courtesy a brilliant catch at forward short leg by young Sachin Katariya - to be reduced to 16-2.
They needed somebody experienced in the middle, and Mithun Manhas came out with positive intent.

Manhas kept Delhi going in the company of Unmukt Chand but it was a different story once Wagh trapped Manhas in front from around the wicket. In good rhythm, Wagh proceeded to run through the Delhi middle order. He accounted for Chand in exactly the same fashion.
Milind Kumar became Wagh's third victim when umpire Suresh Shastri raised his finger for the third time in three overs.
At the other end, Dhruv was keeping things tight but soon he too joined the party with the quick wickets of Manan Sharma and wicketkeeper Rohit Yadav.
