Kate Middleton's Brother Says Association with the Duchess is 'Frustrating'

Speaking about his struggle with dyslexia and attempt to stay out of his sister's shadow, the youngest brother of the Duchess of Cambridge has revealed that sometimes his association with Princess Kate can be royally "frustrating".

James Middleton, 27, is an entrepreneur and in his interview with new lifestyle digital magazine The Young Director (TYD), he opens up about how it feels to be recognised as the Duchess' sibling and not a serious businessman.

"Yes, it does get frustrating. I work incredibly hard, just like every other person," James said.

The Reading, England, native said that it is not just the association with the royal family that upsets him, but the fact that people find it difficult to accept him as a normal person.

"And aside from the fact — yes, I am the brother of someone very important — I am, at the end of the day, just James," he added.

James is the founder of Cake Kit Company and his latest business venture is "Boomf" – a company that gets Instagram photos printed onto gourmet marshmallows. Its official website describes the photo marshmallow as "the edible selfie" and James' position in the company is that of a Product Director.

While the Middletons have always belonged to the United Kingdom's more privileged lot, the youngest member of the family didn't really get everything easily as he was struggling with dyslexia.

James said that due to dyslexia, he had to drop out of the University of Edinburgh, but now he thinks it is one of his strong points.

"I feel like dyslexia is a strong point in me now. For one, it makes you unique, and two, your brain just works differently; you will get to the answer of a solution but just in a different — maybe unconventional way," James further said.
