JABALPUR: Madhya Pradesh high court on Friday granted three months bail to former IAS officer Tinoo Joshi considering her plea moved on medical grounds. Meanwhile, in a special court in Bhopal scheduled the next date of hearing in the disproportionate assets case to February 13.
Earlier, a similar plea by her was dismissed by a lower court in Bhopal after her arrest in the Rs 41 crore disproportionate assets case last week.
Her plea would be heard on Monday.
After eluding arrest for about six months, Joshi surrendered before a special court which sent her to judicial custody till January 26. On December 18, 2014, Supreme Court had set a three-week deadline for Tinoo to surrender.
After her surrender, she requested lower court to grant her bail which was rejected. In a dramatic surrender in court, Tinoo was wheeled into the court room on a wheelchair on emergency medical grounds.
In her bail petition, Tinoo informed court that on July 31, 2014, she underwent treatment at Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior, where Dr Jyoti Bindal treated her. She was later referred to Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital on December 10, 2014.
She stated, on December 26, she went to Udaipur for treatment. On December 19, she was treated at Mahila Chikitsalaya, Udaipur. Currently, Dr Ramesh Ojha of Udaipur is treating her and she was supposed to undergo a surgery on January 14 at Udaipur. Lokayukta officials suspect she had prepared a fake medical ground to get bail.
