RAJKOT: Rajkot District Panchayat Health department and
Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC)’s health department will hold emergency meeting on Saturday to deal with the deadly swine flu virus which claimed one live in Rajkot city.
According to sources in RMC, the meeting will be attended by doctors from across the city including private practitioners and government doctors and they will chalk out plans about the future plans to death with the
H1N1 virus.
Till now, a 30-year-old woman from Rajkot succumbed to H1N1 virus and one youth was tested H1N1 virus positive and he is under treatment at a private hospital.
“The patient was admitted into isolation ward of a private hospital in city. We have deployed health teams to carry out survey of patient’s family members to find out whether any of them are infected with the swine flu or not. But none of them were found with any symptoms’’ said an official from Health department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation.
Sources said that total five people succumbed to civil hospital in Rajkot since January 1. Out of the five, two were from Bhuj, one from Jamkandorna, one from Junagadh and one from Rajkot city.
