Cooperative societies come under e-governance

District Collector S.Suresh Kumar inaugurated the e-governance system in 17 cooperative societies in the district on Friday.

The Collector said that all the 168 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies and 6 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks have established Public Service Centres to facilitate issuance of chitta, payment of electricity bills, advance booking for bus and train services and so on.

Of late these societies were being linked to the National Informatic Centres in a phased manner to provide other value added services such as issuance of income certificate, community certificate, native certificate and first generation graduate certificate.

Already, seven societies in the district had been brought under the e-governance system and with another 17 societies getting the facility, as many as 24 societies had now come under the ambit of the new system.
