'Constitute appellate authorities'

January 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Friday directed the Governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to constitute appellate authorities that would adjudicate appeals against the orders of Pollution Control Boards, within three weeks. The Bench passed these orders while dealing with writ petitions filed by several industrial units.

Court refuses to modify judgment

A Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar and Justice B. Shivashankar Rao on Friday refused to modify the earlier judgment regarding the Gurukul Ghatkesar Trust lands. It may be recalled that an earlier Division Bench declared that the lands belonged to the Trust and not to the government. The government was asked to constitute a high-powered committee that would fix the money to be collected from the present occupiers.
