Teerasil returns to play for Muang Thong United

Teerasil Dangda returned home yesterday following an unsuccessful spell at Spanish La Liga club Almeria.

The striker terminated his contract last week after joining them in July in a one-year loan deal from Thai Premier League side SCG Muang Thong United.

Teerasil, 26, will play for Muang Thong United in the upcoming season which kicks off on Feb 14.

He said he decided to end his stint in Spain because of the language barrier and a lack of playing time.

“I did not get chances to play and had communication problems,’’ he told a press conference at SCG Stadium.

“But I was lucky to be part of the team and it was a good experience for me. I have learned that there is a big gap between Spanish and Thai football.

“If I get another chance, I want to go there again. I will have to worker harder to regain my form. I have to admit that I have lost confidence after I did not get chances to play there.”

Teerasil played in six La Liga and four Copa del Rey matches, mostly as a late substitute, and scored only one goal in the Cup competition.

Teerasil said he will not join the national side which will play in the King’s Cup to be held in Nakhon Ratchasima from Feb 1-7.

“It will be useless for the national team," he said.

“I have to regain my form before returning to the national team.”
