KARKALA, Udupi: Lord Bahubali's message of happiness through non-violence, peace through renunciation, progress through amity and perfection through meditation were more relevant than ever and should act as beacon for future generation, said D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala here on Friday.
Accepting the 'Dharma Durandara' (religious expert) title from the dignitaries during the religious programmes held at Bairarasa Sabha Mantap here, Heggade paid tributes to women saying they were in the forefront of protecting sanctity of religion.

He said the event which comes once in 12 years should recharge the soul till the next mahamastakabhisheka.
Karkala Jain Mutt head Sri Lalithakeerthi Bhattaraka Pattacharyavarya seer said people should get inspired by the divinity of Lord Bahubali by absorbing his grace internally.
Pointing out that how Mahatma Gandhi followed principles of non-violence, he said if the present political lot get inspired by the life of great men, the nation would see all round progress.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner R Vishal complimented his officials for the event going on without a hitch. He said the event saw Rs 15 crore being spent on infrastructure and other amenities.
The event was graced by 108 Sri Chinmayasagar Muni Maharaj, 108 Sri Prasangasagar Muni Maharaj,1 08 Sri Pranamasagar Muni Maharaj and 1 08 Sri Nijanandasagar Muni Maharaj.
