"The Russian ban was also a problem, especially since many exporters counted on that share of the market. As a consequence, many - even the most inexperienced - focused on markets overseas and made things worse."
"There was a steep increase in prices towards the end of the season, though quality was not enough to justify them. If we had to make an assessment as regards 2014, we could say there was a 10% increase in volumes, but the weather affected quality, so the turnover wasn't very good."
The objectives for 2015
"We will definitely increase the volumes destined to exports, especially in the Middle East. Unfortunately though, a lot depends on the weather."
The company also produces kiwis and fresh-cut baby leaf salad. "Thanks to our excellent collaborators and producers, our share of the market is getting bigger every year. Scandinavia and the Baltic states are our main importers, but we are trying to increase our presence also in England, Spain and Middle East."
Schiavone Group will attend Fruit Logistica 2015, Hall 4.2, Stand A-11.
Domenico Marra (UK-Spain manager), Lenka Brostikova (Baltic states, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia manager), Agnese Andrzejczyk (Poland manager), Claudio D'Alba (Scandinavia manager) and Michele Schiavone (supervisor) will be happy to welcome guests.
