SHOULTA, JOHN L. Deacon John L. Shoulta, age 78, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Shelbyville, KY and Albuquerque, NM, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Cobden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cobden, IL. Deacon Shoulta was a graduate of St. John High School, earned an associate's degree at Paducah Community College and was a graduate of Pastoral Ministry Studies at Spalding University. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, was ordained as a Deacon of the Catholic Church in August of 1999, and served as Deacon at the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, KY and at St. John Chrysostom in Eminence, KY. He was a retired vice president of sales with Eminence Speaker Co., a member of the Knights of Columbus, a KY Colonel and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Deacon Shoulta is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne Naas Shoulta; four daughters, Carol Baker (Lenny) of Albuquerque, NM; Teresa Bennett (Rob) of Albuquerque, NM; Ellen Anderson (Paul) of Paducah, KY and Lisa Nix (Steve) of Shelbyville, KY; six sons, Steven Shoulta (Pam) of Paducah, KY; Edward Shoulta (Jason Mills) of Norcross, GA; Jerome Shoulta (Suzette) of Warner Robins, GA; Jeffrey Shoulta (Leigh) of Lenexa, KS; Brian Shoulta (Karen)of Greenwood, IN and Eric Shoulta (Alicia) of Alice Springs, Australia; fifteen grandchildren, Scott Earle, Lynn Thompson (Andrew), Tammy Comstock (Ross), Dr. Erin Brumley (Patrick), Sean Bennett (Cynthia), David Shoulta (Lucy), Jonathan Shoulta (Stephanie), Derrick Anderson, Anthony Shoulta, Brandon Shoulta, Andrew Shoulta, Emily Nix, Alexis Shoulta, Joseph Shoulta and Matthew Shoulta; four great-grandchildren, Aiden Frentzel, Sage Comstock, Rebecca Thompson and Cecelia Thompson; three sisters, Theresa Gaydos of Cleveland, OH, Sister Louise Shoulta RSM of Nashville, TN and Susan Hayden of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Michael Shoulta of Paducah, KY and David Shoulta of Dickson, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Ralph and Judy Wilkerson; four brothers, Frank Shoulta, Cletus Shoulta, Charles Shoulta and Donald Shoulta. His parents were Florian E. and Deva Frances Durbin Shoulta. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
