Jonathan Franks scored twice as Hartlepool picked up three vital points with a 3-2 win over Plymouth.
Franks gave Ronnie Moore's side an eighth-minute lead from an Aaron Tshibola cross before Pools were pegged back by Ryan Brunt's cool finish.
Franks' sixth goal of the season restored United's lead after the break.
Scott Fenwick then made it 3-1 in the 76th minute following a quick break before Olly Lee's header reduced the arrears deep into stoppage time.
