Andy Heyward’s Genius hires digital exec

Genius Brands International, the kids content company run by Andy Heyward, has hired Jason Brumbaugh as vice president, digital.

Brumbaugh is a former producer at Disney Interactive and at kids channel The Hub. He also worked at DIC, the kids producer and distributor that was run by Heyward before its sale to Cookie Jar.

At GBI, he will oversee digital in the newly-created role, reporting to company president Amy Moynihan Heyward.

She said: “Jason is not only an accomplished digital executive with extensive experience in the kids’ space, but is also a knowledgeable strategic thinker who will lead our digital efforts with purpose, to build meaningful digital footprints for our brands.”

GBI properties include Baby GeniusWarren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.
