Pop Corner: Rihanna, a Beatle and a Kanye

For her new single, ‘Four Five Seconds’, Ri-Ri has called in two of pop’s big kahunas: Paul McCartney and Kanye West

TRACK OF THE WEEK: Four Five Seconds by Rihanna featuring Paul McCartney and Kanye West. Rihanna's new single features a Beatle and Kanye. That is a not a sentence we ever thought we would type but, luckily, the song is not half bad – an acoustic guitar number that cries out to be sung on a beach, with all your friends around. We also appreciate how time-specific the song is: "we got three more days 'til Friday."

Hero of the week is Taylor Swift, for the way she lovingly cyber-stalks her fans. Taylor told BBC Radio One that it's "stalking not in a creepy way but because I care; it's in a caring way! You can learn a lot about somebody by looking at their pages." She went on to give an example: "This was just a girl I sent some things to because what she was blogging about was student loans stuff. It's something that makes me happy." Any presents for us can be sent via Ticket Towers, Taylor.

Zero of the week is Sam Smith's love life. After recently breaking up with his boyfriend, he told the Sun: "Hopefully I will find someone soon and when I do I think it will be a bit more difficult to sing songs because I will want to sing happy songs."

In Niall Horan news, Nialler has struck up an unexpected friendship with Marvin from JLS. Marvin told Heat magazine that Niall is an honorary uncle to his kid. He said: "Niall spoils her rotten. He bought her a Burberry mac for her christening present and then this Christmas he just went nuts in Selfridges and bought her a load of designer clothes."
