Madhur Bhandarkar's Priyanka Chopra-starrer 'Madamji' put on hold?

The film is reportedly too similar to Mallika Sherawat's 'Dirty Polictics'

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was to venture into production with her upcoming film ‘Madamji’, with director Madhur Bhandarkar. The film was said to be based on the story of Anokhi Devi, a bar dancer who became one of the most influential politicians in India.

But according to a report in DNA After Hours the upcoming film may be on hold due to close similarities to Mallika Sherawat’s film ‘Dirty Polictis’.

A source was quoted as saying, “Madamji is not happening at the moment. The script sounded too similar to Mallika Sherawat’s character in KC Bokadia;s Dirty Politics.”

The report also stated that the makers have no plans to revise the script as the subject does not sound interesting.

A couple of days ago at an event Mallika Sherawat was asked if she was worried about competition. To which she replied, “Kya competition? Kahan ka competition? Madamji aur Dirty Politics dono ek hi ring mein kadi. Let the best win. Dirty Politics ka koi competition nahi, aur Madamji competition nahi hai”

(What competition? Madamji and Dirty Politics are pitted against each other. Let the best win. Dirty Politics has no competition and Madamji is certainly not competition)
