The Hollywood Reporter writes that OUTLANDER's Caitriona Balfe has signed on for Jodie Foster's MONEY MONSTER drama. Originally written by Alan DiFore and Jim Kouf, the film's current script was drafted by Jamie Linden.

MONEY MONSTER centers on Lee Gates (George Clooney), described as "a bombastic television stock huckster, whose program -- Money Monster -- and life are taken hostage by an outraged gunman (Jack O'Connell). As much of the world watches live, Gates must keep himself alive and, with help from the woman who produces the show (Julia Roberts), uncover the truth behind a tangle of big-money lies."

Balfe will play "head of PR for the company whose stock bottomed, causing the life's savings of O'Connell's character to be wiped out."

Balfe will return for Season 2 of OUTLANDER. She has THE PRICE OF DESIRE in the queue. Among her past film credits are ESCAPE PLAN, NOW YOU SEE ME and SUPER 8.
