Three test positive for H1N1

A 29-year-old woman and her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter from Saibaba Colony and a 56-year-old woman from Ganapathy were admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Wednesday after they tested positive for H1N1 virus. According to official sources, their condition was stable. They are undergoing treatment at the H1N1 ward. The last three cases in Coimbatore were reported in December 2014.

Preventive measures

The Health Department conducted refresher training for medical officer, staff nurses and other staff on Wednesday. The officials have also administered prophylactic treatment to all the patients’ relatives, who were also checked for the virus. Preventive measures such as cleaning with disinfectant were undertaken at their residence and local area as well.
