JAMMU, Jan 29: National Integration tour organised for the opinion makers like Sarpanchs and social leaders of villages located in remote and far flung areas of Doda district under Operation Sadbhavna by Army interacted with Lieutenant General DS Hooda, Army Commander Northern Command at Udhampur today. The tour was aimed to bring awareness about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country.
The tour comprised of 25 participants and visited places of cultural, religious and historical interest like Noida, Udaipur and Ajmer.
In Ajmer, the participants visited Moinuddin Chishti’s Dargah, Pushkar Lake, Bramha Mandir, Anna Sagar Lake and Ajmer Fort.  In Udaipur the tour visited the Bagori ki Haveli, Lake Pichola, and Mansoon Palace. In Delhi the tour visited Red Fort and Lotus Temple. The tour also visited Pacific University in Udaipur and Noida University near Delhi, where Army has facilitated the admissions of more than 650 students from remote areas of J & K in various Graduation Courses.
The tour also availed the opportunity to witness the Republic Day Parade and interacting with the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Army’s Northern Command conducted 54 such National Integration Tour (NIT) for elders and children of the state during the year 2014.
