A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 southbound in Weld County on Thursday has left a child dead and two other people injured.

The crash happened near the Wyoming border at about 11:45 a.m. near Carr, the Colorado State Patrol said. A photo from the scene showed a damaged vehicle resting on its roof.

The State Patrol said a child was killed after being ejected from the vehicle as it rolled.

A helicopter was dispatched to the scene and airlifted one of the injured passengers.

The conditions of those injured was not immediately available. Both were taken to Cheyenne, Wyo., for treatment.

The vehicle involved in the crash had Nebraska licenses plates, Lewis said.

Lewis said the crash is under investigation.
