HCC Striving for Hindu Unity and Universal Peace
This ever-popular community HCC Annual Shivarathri Yathra will be held on Sunday the 15th
February 2015.
The HCC Annual Maha Shivarathri Yathra is a community spiritual event, which attracts devotees
from all over the province and beyond. Traditionally the Yathra alternates between Lenasia and
Lenasia South. The Maha Shivarathri Yathra, which is in fact a pilgrimage directed at enhancing
Hindu Unity and Universal peace and precedes the observance of Maha Shivarathri, which takes
place on the 17th February 2015, and will be observed by Hindus and Temples across the world.
This year the HCC Shiv Yathra commences at 6am, at the Shri Sathya Sai Centre on Godavri
Street, Ext 11 Lenasia with a Hawan and short program as we pray for peace, love, good values
and a good quality of life for all beings; for everyone, irrespective of religion, colour or creed.
The Yathra which will average 9km, will culminate at the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir on Kingfisher
Street Ext 1 Lenasia, where, after a highly charged programme, devotees and participants are
invited to share in Maha Prasadam, or lunch.
All Temples and Cultural organisations are requested to enter a float, and if possible offer
