TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Joko Widodo on Thursday, January 29, 2015, held a coordination meeting with regents from regions of eastern Indonesia at the Bogor Presidential Palace. There were around 110 regents from South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Papua and West Papua who attended the meeting, where Jokowi presented development programs in various regions.
"We want to gather suggestions and inputs needed to develop regions and regencies so that all of them go in the same direction," said Jokowi on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
On that occasion, Jokowi also mentioned funding to several regions from the central government. He said that the government now has healthy fiscal space because burdens such as fuel subsidy have been cut.
Officials from the Working Cabinet who were present at the meeting were Home Affairs Ministry Tjahjo Kumolo, National Development Planning Board chief Andrinof Chaniago and Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto. Tjahjo Kumolo said that the meeting between regents and the president was the third out of five meetings that will be attened by regents and mayors from across Indonesia.
