Luis Suarez to Arsenal? Wenger 'considering' audacious swoop for former Liverpool star

Luis Suarez has been tipped with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal, according to reports today.

Suarez  has struggled for form since returning from his bite ban and Andoni Zubizarreta, the man who brought the Uruguay hitman to Catalonia, was sacked as Barca sporting director earlier this month.

Wenger is reported to be sizing up the situation with interest and is prepared to make a cash-only bid to win the services of Suarez, according to the Sun.

According to reports in Spain, Suarez is determined to stay with Barcelona for the rest of the season. However, his paltry return of five goals for reported £75m that the La Liga side paid for him means that Barcelona may be prepared to cash in.

The La Liga side are not slow to sell on players who aren't working out - €66m signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic left after a single season in Catalonia.

Wenger is a noted fan of Suarez. He famously made a £40 million plus £1 bid for the Uruguay international in 2013. And he tried again last year before Suarez left Liverpool.

Wenger, however, remains keen on the hitman, despite the baggage that comes with him, and would jump at the chance of teaming Suarez up with fellow South American star Alexis Sanchez.
