CCB sleuths nab cricket bookies

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have raided two places and nabbed cricket bookies taking bets from punters for Cricket World Cup starting next month.

Based on a tip-off, a team of officials raided Manu Tyre Shop in Kalasipalya and nabbed Vinay, a resident of Shanti Nagar. According to the police, Vinay was receiving bets from punters of Bengaluru and Mumbai through Mobilebetting.com, an online betting website.

The police have recovered cash amount of Rs 6.5 lakh and a mobilephone from Vinay for further investigations.

Similarly, the police have raided a house in Banasawadi and arrested Anand (37). The police have seized Rs. 67,000 unaccounted cash from him.
