Liverpool rumours: Brendan Rodgers in double swoop for Lars Stindl and Leonardo Bittencourt

Liverpool are planning a double swoop for Hannover duo Lars Stindl and Leonardo Bittencourt, claims The Daily Star.

It seems reports in Germany are suggesting the Reds have an eye on the midfielders with Steven Gerrard to depart at the end of the season for American side LA Galaxy.

Brazilian Lucas Leiva is also believed to be on his way out of the club in the summer, while Raheem Sterling is on Real Madrid's radar, leaving Brendan Rodgers potentially facing a rebuild of his midfield.

The Star says Stindl, 26, has established himself as a regular for Hannover, but is out of contract in less than 18 months time and a release clause worth just £2.2m becomes active in the summer.

Bittencourt, 21, joined Hannover from Borussia Dortmund in 2013 on a four-year deal and he is a regular in Germany's U21 side. The winger could, apparently, be signed for as little as £6m.
