Just now, Canon has announced the availability of two new firmware packages developed for its EOS 1D X and 5D Mark III Digital SLR cameras, namely versions 2.0.7. and 1.3.3, which resolve some improper English and Russian menu indications.

In addition to that, these updates also improve the camera’s AutoFocus (AF) control when shooting with a wide-angle lens (fixed focal length or zoom) in Live View mode.

Besides the aforementioned changes, through firmware 2.0.7 Canon’s EOS 1D X unit receives fixes for its inaccurate electronic level indicator, and gets its long exposure shooting issue fixed (vertical lines would appear on image’s right edge).

Moreover, this device will now work properly when shooting continuously with shutter speed over 1 second in Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB), and its control mechanism reliability regarding Picture Style Auto settings gets improved.

Last but not least, update 2.0.7 also resolves a problem with the “Save and read camera settings” function where color space data selected in “Custom shooting mode (C1-C3)” wouldn’t be saved.

When it comes to applying these new versions, the installation steps are identical to those used for upgrading your devices to Canon EOS-1D X Firmware 2.0.3 or Canon EOS 5D Mark III Firmware 1.2.3, and are also present within each downloadable archive (for several languages).

In other words, depending on which product you own, download Canon EOS-1D X Camera Firmware 2.0.7 or download Canon EOS 5D Mark III Camera Firmware 1.3.3, carefully read the included instructions, upgrade your device, and “stay updated one minute ago.”
