HE MAY be more accustomed to the studio lights than treading the boards but RTE sports pundit Marty Morrissey took it all in his stride as he made his acting debut at the Gaiety Theatre.

Morrissey took on the part of 'Ulick' - a gormless bachelor on the wrong side of 60 who suffers from a skin condition forcing him to scratch himself incessantly - in John B Keane's comedy 'Moll'.

Morrissey had just one line to deliver, but you know what they say - there is no such thing as small parts, only small actors.

"Believe me, one line is enough!" Morrissey quipped. "I am not an actor but I went to college with John's son Billy, so I gushed 'Yes, yes, yes!' when they asked me to do it."
