One more person on Wednesday joined the battery of advisers of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

CHANDIGARH: One more person on Wednesday joined the battery of advisers of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The state government has appointed Jagdish Chopra, a senior BJP leader in Haryana as political adviser to the CM.
A senior party loyalist from Sirsa, Chopra was a strong contender for the party ticket from Sirsa assembly segment in the recently concluded Haryana elections.
However, the party had decided to field Congress turncoat Sunita Setia. He has also been the vice-president of Haryana unit of BJP.
With Chopra's appointment, the total number of private persons in the chief minister's office (CMO) as advisers or officers of special duty (OSDs) has reached to seven. They all are entitled a pay and perks equivalent to a class one officers.
These seven persons are besides a full-fledged CMO comprising three senior IAS officers as principal secretary, additional principal secretaries and a state civil service officer as OSD.
The private persons who are posted in CMO are Jawahar Yadav, Captain Bhupinder, Bhupeshwar Dyal, Amrendra Singh and Raj Kumar Bhardwaj as officers of special duty (OSDs) to chief minister, while Amit Arya as media advisor and Jagdish Chopra as political adviser.
The senior officials who are appointed to run the chief minister are Sanjeev Kaushal as principal secretary and Sumita Misra Singh and Rakesh Gupta as additional principal secretaries to the CM. One state civil services officer Mukul Kumar is also posted as OSD to the CM.
