Airbnb Is Offering a Night in an Alpine Cable Car, 9,000 Feet in the Air

Talk about a high-end hotel. Tired of staying in plain old resorts while traveling? Airbnb's latest listing might pique your interest.

For one night, the winner of Airbnb's "A Night At" competition can invite up to three companions to stay in a cable car suspended 9,000-feet over La Saulire, the highest point in Courchevel, that has been transformed into a luxury one- or two-bedroom apartment. The prize also includes dinner for four.

To win, all contestants  have to do is submit 100 words -- in English or French --  through Airbnb's website on why they would like to stay in the cable car. And be available to travel to France from March 6 to March 7 to enjoy their spoils, bien sûr. The house rules? The resort asks simply, "Please do not call asking for more ice," and "Please leave your feedback on a foggy window." Seems doable.

Not only will guests experience once-in-a-lifetime lodging, but they'll be in perfect position to hit the slopes nice and early on the morning of March 7: The world famous ski resort is located in the 3 Vallées, the largest skiable area in the world.

The competition is part of Airbnb's "A Night At" campaign, which gives contestants the opportunity to stay in unconventional places. In the past, those lodgings have included a KLM Airplane Loft, Ikea, Catherine de' Medici's castle and The Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
