At a time when English pulp fiction is reaching new heights, platforms and publishers are encouraging new writers to emerge.

Riding this wave, Praveen Balusu, an IT professional who hails from the city, launched his second book titled ‘The Scream of the Dream’. A romantic fiction published by Kolkata-based Power Publishers, the book talks about the essence of “true love” as seen through three characters and their journey of life.

“The word love is often misconstrued. Media reports are flooded with stories of acid attacks on girls and eve-teasing. I wanted to bring out a book that dealt with selfless love. True love means loving the happiness of the loved one,” said Praveen Balusu at the book launch here on Tuesday. The book is available on Ebay, Amazon, and book store chains like Crossword. The 174-page book is priced at Rs. 300.

Balusu, who works in an IT firm in Mumbai, is an MBA graduate. His first book ‘A Dawn in the Lawn’ was on cricket. A writer by passion, Balusu said he writes on themes that draws his attention.

“I mostly read business and sports books. Though this is my first attempt at the romantic fiction genre, it is a subject that I have pondered about,” he added.
