Poll code violation: Rampur court stays Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's conviction

A Rampur court on Wednesday granted bail to Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in a case related to unlawful assembly, wrongful restrain and wrongful confinement.

RAMPUR: A Rampur court on Wednesday granted bail to Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in a case related to unlawful assembly, wrongful restrain and wrongful confinement.
Earlier, Naqvi's lawyer had filed an appeal against the conviction order passed by a lower court. The court admitted the appeal of Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and granted him bail till the disposal of the appeal.
The court also stayed the conviction and fine imposed by the lower court against the union Minister. Naqvi's councel Shayam Lal ddressed the media persons outside the court of the district and sessions judge of Rampur.
Speaking to TOI outside the court Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "I will not comment over the judgement of the court because the matter is sub-judice before the court."
