RAJKOT: Thieves decamped with cash, copper wire and brass articles amounting to Rs 25 lakh from a shop in Gokuldham Society in Swaminarayan Chowk locality of the city on Tuesday.
Sources said that Bharat Dedaniya of Alay Park on Nana Mava Road who owns a shop named Patel Enterprise has lodged a complaint in the matter at Malviyanagar police station.
He told the police that some unidentified persons broke the grills and locks of the shutter to enter the shop that sells brass parts.
He further said that the security system that was installed in the shop was damaged by the accused before they decamped with brass articles, copper wire, cash and also some aluminium articles from the shop.
The police are trying to get closed circuit television footages from nearby places to get some clue about the thieves. They also suspect that the thieves must have used a vehicle to take away the stolen articles.
