A policeman's endeavor to keep road safe

Spotted - a traffic police holding up an electric wire in the middle of a road in Wuhu city, Anhui province on Tuesday, chinanews.com reported.

The dangling wire caused a traffic jam during the morning rush hour before Pan Zhijun, the policeman, came to the rescue.

Fearing it would be run over by passing vehicles, posing great danger to the public, Pan picked the wire up immediately.

The repair team finally made it to the scene, but leaving Pan holding, standing on his toes occasionally so as to make room for larger vehicles to pass, braving the cold winter drizzle for over two and a half hours.
