‘Jane the Virgin’ scores big for The CW — again

“Jane the Virgin” continues to help lift The CW to new ratings heights.

The freshman show, a modest hit which snared a Golden Globe award earlier this month for star Gina Rodriguez, averaged 1.6 million viewers Monday night — its best viewership since its premiere last October.

“Jane the Virgin” combined with “The Originals” — which snared a season-best 1.7 million viewers — to give The CW its most-watched Monday night in over three years (when “Gossip Girl” and “Hart of Dixie” aired on that night).

The network also scored its best Monday night, in the adults 18-49 demographic, in over two years.

Versus the same Monday night last year, The CW was up a whopping 66 percent in total viewers and 75 percent in adults 18-49.
