Corning tops on Gorilla sales

The maker of tough Gorilla Glass reported a 55% jump in Q4 EPS to 45 cents, beating forecasts by 7 cents a share. It was Corning's (GLW) 4th straight quarter of accelerating earnings growth. Revenue for the supplier of glass displays to Apple (AAPL), Sony (SNE) and others rose 30% to $2.6 bil vs. analyst consensus for $2.5 bil. Corning anticipates strong demand for Gorilla Glass will drive 10% growth in Q1 in its Specialty Materials unit. LCD glass volume will likely fall, in line with seasonality.
