Air Marshal gets PVSM

Air Marshal A.P. Garud, ADC, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Air Command, Thiruvananthapuram, has been conferred Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) by the President. He was conferred the award on Republic Day for his ‘distinguished service of the most exceptional order.’

Air Marshal Garud, who was commissioned into the helicopter stream of the Air Force on December 29, 1976, is a recipient of Vayu Sena Medal. He has rich and varied experience of flying.

He is also a qualified flying instructor and had served as Directing Staff at Flying Instructors School of the IAF, a release here said.
