KERC public hearing from Feb. 6

Setting in motion the process of a possible revision in tariff, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has announced that public hearings will be held from February 6 to 13 during which consumers can raise objections or offer suggestions. Electricity supply companies have sought an increase of 80 paise per unit. The revised tariff is usually announced by the end of the financial year (March 31) and becomes applicable from April 1. Last year, the average tariff hike was 32 paise per unit.
