Cultural, social & other organizations celebrate 66th Republic Day by hoisting National Tricolour

JAMMU, Jan 27:  Like other part of the country, 66th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour by various cultural, social and regional organizations across Jammu.
Dogra Sadar Sabha celebrated the Day by organizing an impressive function where Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president of the Sabha, hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Charak exhorted people to preserve the values of democracy, brotherhood and communal harmony.  Children of Jyoti Public School, Jammu presented the National Anthem and other cultural items while office bearers and members of the Dogra Sadar Sabha attended the function.
In connection with the Republic Day celebration, an impressive function was organized in the office of Chamber of Traders Federation wherein CTF president Yash Paul Gupta hoisted the national flag. He exhorted the people to display unity among all ranks of the society to usher in an era of peace and prosperity in the State. Prominent among those, present on the occasion, included Dinesh Gupta, Ajay Mahajan,  Ravi Gupta, Raghubir Gupta, Vijay Saraf, Kanwaljeet Singh, Ravi Gupta, Bhushan Abrol, Vinay Gupta, Vipan Gupta, Ram Kumar Sharma, Yash Paul Gupta and Vinod Mahajan.
Shalamar Traders Association, celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm by organizing a function at Shalamar Park. MLA Jammu-East Rajesh Gupta hoisted national flag on the occasion and threw light on importance of the day. The Association chairman Jagmohan Gupta, president Pardeep Sharma, general secretary Daljeet Singh Bumrah and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
To celebrate the Republic Day, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha organized a grand function in the Sabha premises near Parade Ground. President Ved Parkash hoisted the national flag in the presence of prominent members of the community while vice-president Verinder Magotra threw light on relevance of the day.
All J&K SC &ST Retired Employee  Forum celebrated  Republic Day  at  Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Academy Roop Nagar, Jammu where S S Sarangral,   president  of the Forum,  hoisted the  National Tricolour . On the occasion, children of B R Ambedkar Memorial  Covent  School Bantalab presented  colourful cultural  programme while the  Forum distributed blankets  amongst  the  September  2014 flood  affected families of  village Sure Chack  in Jammu district.
The  Day was celebrated by Maharaja Hari Singh Vichar Manch Sainik Colony Jammu in a big way and with great pomp and show. On the occasion, national flag was hoisted by the Manch office bearers, who included Advocate B S Jamwal (chairman), Kali Dass, O M Singh, Vicky Charak and others.
Sat Pal, Managing Director, Housing Board, along with shopkeepers of Mini Market, Green Belt Park, hoisted the National Flag during a simple but impressive function on the occasion of Republic Day,
Swami Bal Yogeshwar Maharaj unfurled the national flag with children in a function held at Balram ji temple,Tawi.  Speaking on the occasion, Maharaj Bal Yogeshwar greeted the people of nation in general and Jammu & Kashmir in particular on Republic day.
On the occasion of  Republic Day,  Flag hoisting ceremony was held at Laxmi Narayan Temple Chowk by the people Ward number 21, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. BJP leader  Indu Bhushan Sharma  hoisted the flag  while students of various schools performed on patriotic songs.
Arya Samaj Trikuta Nagar Jammu celebrated Republic Day and the function in this regard started with performing  of Yagya for peace and prosperity of the country and by paying tributes to those freedom fighters who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle of India . National flag was hoisted by Prithvi Nath Raina, president Arya Samaj Trikuta Nagar Jammu, who was accompanied by  Bharat Bhushan Gupta.
Tawi Welfare Society  celebrated Republic Day in Apna Van at village Sure  Chack in Tawi  Island.   The flag was hoisted by  president of the Society.  Local people also participated in the function. On this occasion, an oath was taken by the participants for making contributions  towards welfare and development of the Society.
To commemorate the 66th Republic Day,  war veterans from across the region  assembled in large number at Brahame Di Bari. The meet was organized by social activist and ex Sr vice president of J and K Ex services League (JKESL) Col Prem Singh Dogra while J&K State Director of the War Decorated India, Col Virendra K Sahi, VrC was the chief guest.
Canal Road Walkers Welfare Association (CRWWA) celebrated 66th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism at the Walkway Viewpoint. All walkers, men, women and children from surrounding localities of Talab Tillo, Bakshi Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Canal Road and nearby areas, participated in the function. The flag was hoisted by one of our prominent walkers, Suman Gupta. President of the Association, Prof M S Nargal and general secretary  Advocate Vijay Sharma  as well as  other executive members of the Association were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion Republic Day, a cultural programme and flag hosting ceremony was held  at village Kotli Shah Daula, R S Pura.  The function was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Committee.  Rajesh Sharma, chairman J&K Cooperative, was chief guest in the function, which was attended by locals, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and Lambardars of this village. On this occasion, children of BMS Public School performed a cultural programme.
Republic Day was celebrated by inmates of Balgran-a charitable home for destitute children at Channi Rama Jammu.  Students of Bal Bharti  Public School also took part in the function wherein national flag was hoisted by John A U Beck, Senior Manager  NHPC, J&K  Region. On the occasion, students presented an impressive cultural programme while the chief guest presented certificates of honour to Vinod Kumar and Sadhna Kachroo for their contribution to  Balgran.
On the Republic Day, S Rajinder Singh, Convener All J&K Sikh Unity Forum hoisted national flag at Simbal Camp, R S Pura.  Advocate Sangat Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Sharmar Singh , Capt  Harnaam Singh, Avjyot Singh of NSUI, Karam Singh, Harcharan Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
The Republic Day was celebrated at Bagh-e-Bahu  with tremendous enthusiasm and fervour by the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association.  Most of the attendees were Government  employees and retired defence personnel.  Speaking on the occasion, the Association general secretary R L  Kaith  threw light on importance of the day.
Aman Kalsotra, Social activist and Director Sky High India Social Organization, unfurled the national flag in the organization office where a function was organized on the occasion of Republic Day. People from all walks of life, including educationalists, sports persons, social activists, students and general public witness the grand program, during which children performed on patriotic songs.
Registered Contractors Association Jammu Province celebrated Republic Day by organizing a function at Lok Nirman Bhawan, Rail Head Complex where national tricolour was unfurled by president of the Association Sham Singh and general secretary Vinod Kohli.
On the Republic Day, Kashmir Dramatic Club presented a colourful cultural function at Tumal where P N Hakim hoisted national tricolour. In this programme, music, dance and painting competitions were also organized in which a number of students took part and displayed their talent.
All Jammu and Kashmir Christian Forum celebrated Republic Day at Ambphalla Chowk wherein Markes Gill unfurled the national flag amidst singing of National Anthem. Sweets were distributed in the function, which was attended by a large number of people and the Forum members.
J&K Human Rights Watch also celebrated the day at its provincial office in Mendhar, Poonch. Mohd Rafiq Thakkar, provincial president of the organization, hoisted the national flag while National Anthem was sung was school students.
On the Republic Day, All India State Anti Corruption and Anti Crime Trust organized a function at Dutta Market Digiana, which was attended by the trust members, officers and locals of the area. Chairman Raman Pawa unfurled the national flag while sweets were distributed on the occasion.
Resident Welfare Association, Pamposh Colony Janipur Jammu hoisted national tricolour and celebrated the Republic Day. Prominent writer Prof Mohan Lal Koul and former president of Bajrang Dal, Surinder Sharma delivered speeches on the occasion.
Flag hoisting ceremony was held by Welfare Committee Rehari/Dogra Hall on the occasion of Republic Day.  The function was presided over by Parshotam Thapa while N D Rajwal, former Corporator, was chief guest on the occasion.
Vivek Gupta, president of Dudhadhari Shopkeepers Association, hoisted the national flag during a function in connection with Republic Day. Members of  the Association and locals took part in the function wherein speeches were also delivered on importance of  the day.
On the occasion of Republic Day, flag hoisting ceremony was organized by Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj Trust at Dogra Hall Jammu. M D Dardi, vice-chairman of the trust, unfurled the national flag and took the salute amidst singing of National Anthem.
Shri Badrinath Shiv Mandir Management Committee, Arorian Di Chappri, New Plot Jammu, celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic fervour and organized a flag hoisting ceremony. President of the committee, Parshotam Abrol hoisted the national flag in presence of prominent people and locals.
On the Republic Day, Area Welfare Committee, JDA Housing Colony Roop Nagar, organized a function at Ram Vatika Park in the colony where MLA Raipur Domana Bali Bhagat unfurled the National Flag. Children of Twinkle Playway School, Roop Nagar and Little Millennium School Roop Nagar, presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion while prizes were also distributed among the participants.
Jammu Development Council organized flag hoisting ceremony at Chowk Chabutra Jammu to celebrate the Republic Day. Krishan Lal Abrol, president of the Council and general secretary S Balvinder Singh unfurled the National Flag on the occasion while all shopkeepers and prominent people of the area attended the function.
Republic Day was celebrated with much fanfare and great enthusiasm in Tawi Vihar Colony Sidhra Jammu. The National flag was unfurled by Lt Gen L P Sadhotra, who was the chief guest on the occasion, amidst the chanting of National Anthem by children of Housecorp School Tawi Vihar. On the occasion, awards were presented to various employees from Electrical Deptt, Water distribution wing, and Safai Karamcharis for their outstanding dedication to their work in the colony. General secretary of the Tawi Vihar Residents Association appealed everyone to be a part of Swachhata Abhiyan. A variety of cultural programme was also presented by the school children, who were later awarded the prizes for their.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society celebrated Republic Day by organizing flag hoisting ceremony at Main Chowk Mini Market, Trikuta Nagar. All members of the Society and a number of locals took part in the colourful function, which marked singing of National Anthem and patriotic songs besides unfurling of national tricolour.
