One arrested for murder of two BJP men

Banka: Taking swift action against the killers of BJP activists Shambhu Singh and Bhola Pujhar, the Banka police have arrested one of the named accused Chandan Yadav in connection with the killings in Katoria assembly segment that caused sensation in the entire district besides causing social tension in the area.
Notably, Katoria assembly segment is represented by BJP MLA Sonelal Hembrom.According to sources, the motive behind killings is said to be a land dispute between the killers and the deceased. Another rumour is doing round about the extramarital relationship between the deceased Shambhu Singh with a woman of the area. While some link it to political animosity between the BJP workers with those of rival parties in view of the impending assembly elections.
It may be mentioned here that 45-year old BJP activists Shambu Singh of Sarua village and 65-year old Bhola Pujhar of Belagarh Tonapaather (under Suiyaa police outpost) were murdered in broad daylight on Sunday, a day before the country celebrated its 66th Republic Day.
Both were blown with bombs when they were sipping tea at a small eating joint near Malbathan Chowk in Basmatha panchayat under Katoria police station of Banka district. Five persons have been named in the FIR.
