LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 27, 2015) - G2S, the Gaming Standards Association's award-winning Game-to-System Message Protocol, drives many of the gaming industry's newest and most exciting products. Now GSA is set to unveil G2S version 3.0, and the organization's members are in the process of conducting final reviews and providing comments before it is released.

"G2S Version 3.0 is the result of almost three years of work by our G2S Technical Committee, based on direct feedback from suppliers and operators, as well as regulators in jurisdictions from around the world. The result is a new version of G2S that is not only mature and rich in functionality, but which also simplifies protocol implementation, testing and operation," said GSA Chairman Adrian Marcu. "Most significantly, the new version of G2S uses WebSockets and EXI, making message handling and communications much more efficient."

Critical new functionality has been added to the protocol including support for Standalone Progressive Controllers, Mystery Progressive Jackpots, and Progressive Displays. Specific jurisdictional requirements have also been addressed. Further improvements to the Player User Interface have been made, allowing multi-source picture-in-picture functionality to be managed through an open protocol.

"We have been listening to our membership and to the industry at large throughout this improvement process," noted Marcu. "Now we want to make certain that member input and feedback is heard and addressed as we prepare to release the standard this Spring."
