FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- New England Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner showed how much he wants the Super Bowl win when he told his team to hit Sherman's injured elbow, even break it.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman injured his elbow in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers, spraining it. Despite the injury, Sherman said he will "100 percent be able to play."

Browner, who helped the Seahawks in their victory against Denver last Super Bowl, looks to exploit the injury to help his new team take home the trophy.

"I'm going to tell my teammates, 'Go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,'" Browner told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "'Try to break it if you can.'"

Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright said he was disappointed at the sentiment from his former teammate.

"I didn't know he said that, but we don't play like that," said Wright. "We don't go out there and try to hurt guys. And I don't care if they do have an injury. We're not going out there trying to hurt people, and especially guys you're close to. If he said that, it's fine, but that's not our main focus."

He said targeting injured players is not an acceptable tactic.

"If you know a player's injured, you don't try to re-hurt him," he said. "You just try to play ball and play hard. But as far as going out there and targeting certain areas, that's unacceptable and shouldn't be in football."

Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin took a different stance, saying he'd "expect nothing less" given they want the Super Bowl as much as they do and that teams have to "find whatever edge you can."
